The Chasm Group was founded in 1993, led by Geoffrey Moore, author of Crossing the Chasm, arguably the seminal text on high technology market development. More books followed authored by Moore, and by founding members Tom Kippola (The Gorilla Game) and Paul Wiefels (The Chasm Companion).
These best-selling texts have served as beacons for managers navigating the turbulent waters of technology markets. Many report that they are re-reading these books while still others—a new generation—are finding them for the first time. The insights, ideas, models and the methodologies detailed in these books have stood the test of time in their clarity, value and when applied, the real-world results that ensue. Our clients revisit these concepts over and over again for lasting advantage.
In 2003, to better serve our increasingly diverse set of clients, we evolved the company into three distinct practices; each practice led by senior partners; and all practices residing under the same roof:
- The Chasm Group serves private and public companies who need to optimize their market development and go-to-market strategies to meet growth aspirations; the challenge of a changing category; or the renewal of their fundamental positioning and value propositions.
- TCG Advisors serves large public companies facing the challenges of fundamental strategy and organizational renewal and transformation.
- Chasm Institute is devoted to professional development and organizational training based on the models and methodologies detailed primarily in our book, The Chasm Companion.
